Canada’s telecomms suck. New immigrant from the philippines here. And yes, the phone companies are overpriced and have no concept of customer service. I just got screwed for $600 for accidental phone internet. Damn Fido. Haha. Cheers dude. WE love this site.

Oh, lord. I remember a few years back, when there was all the money being thrown at “research infrastructure,” and someone interviewed at the time said something to the effect of, “We need to remember to hire people to make use of the infrastructure.” Excuse me while I laugh to keep from crying. (Okay okay, so I was looking for more than a postdoc at subsistence wages; should I therefore be made the object of fun?) Meanwhile, there’s new places like Donnelly that exist primarily to provide yet more space and resources for superstars who already have established careers (Yes, Aled Edwards, you smug bastard, I’m looking at you).

Oh, the cell phone thing? Yeah, that looks bad, too.
