Seriously? Is that real? I mean, yes, it’d be from the same people who brought us the Committee to Re-Elect the American President, so their choice in acronyms would be consistent, but actually using a swear, with THAT logo, feels like something out of the Onion.

Well, for every time they do something this classless and over the top, it will remind people that America needs a change.

And McCain’s “I have drunk the koolaid and have seen the light of W” act is NOT a change.

I think many conservatives would say “We won’t judge Democrats off those who make ‘bathroom blowjob’ jokes or ‘Bush looks like a monkey’ jokes if you won’t judge us for these assholes.”

Dear Lenny Bruce,

Why haven’t you done a bit on this one yet? And don’t give me that whole “I’m dead” spiel. You cashed that cheque too many times as is.

I’ve always hated the argument about how asinine *other* people are somehow excuses one’s own even asininer behavior. Calling Bush a monkey-looking motherfucker is world’s away from breaking the C-barrier in order to delegitimize a female candidate. Plus, he really does kind of look like the chimp with which Ronald Reagan used to make movies.

Is that logo a cartoon representation of Amorica?

This is very strange. Hillary’s gender is not a dirty little secret.

It’s a shame that logo is being used for this, because I think it’d be an awesome feminist logo. Tiny little patriotism bikini.

For me, the big distinction isn’t the “c” word but that they’re making an actual 527 organization out of this. If it was just the shirt I’d simply groan; making it a tax-exempt group makes me want to punch things.

Personally, I think it’s hilarious, even though it’s BS.

To be fair though, I call everyone a cunt, as I don’t see how cunt is any worse than dick, or pussy, or cock.

I’m all about equality of genitalia.

That is wrong. I mean really, I want a transcript of that meeting so I can punch the balls of whoever thought that up. And this is coming from a conservative.

Entirely misses the point?

I doubt anyone’s going to argue that the shirt is vulgar and bigoted, an offense to women and to political discourse. But it isn’t like outright unintelligent cruelty is new or limited to one end of the spectrum. The knife cuts both ways. You probably disagreed with him for it, but Henry Rollins wrote a vulgar tirade about raping Ann Coulter that was lauded by many folks – should we be shocked that extreme right-wingers have the same tactics?

You may point out that Ann Coulter is indeed an evil human being, but sooner or later we have to admit that when we live in a climate of invectives and mockery, political discourse is often replaced by witty folks lobbying cruel comments at political figures and then leaning back to enjoy the accolades of sycophants. I have to make sure that I’m not disproportionately offended just because it’s aimed at someone I support, like Senator Clinton.

I think it’s difficult to qualify evil. Anyone who attacks someone for anything other than their positions or actions is doing something wrong. So obviously, making a vulgar shirt that’s anti-Hillary is wrong. It’s further evidence that evangelical Christians ought to abandon the Republican Party.

On the other hand, does it further the political debate any further to photoshop pictures to show Bush performing oral sex (since you took my “asshole” comment literally) or with a Hitler moustache? I can go down to my local anarchist bookstore and see things of that nature next to the peace sign patches. In my town, I’m far more likely to see that than a shirt that calls Hillary…that word (I have issues with that word, just typing it).

This is coming from a guy who’s pro-Hillary at this point. I think it feeds into what Stone wants to even publicize this.

We tolerate this a great deal from a number of people. Last night I saw an episode of South Park that portrayed Senator Clinton’s genitals as disgusting and undesirable, and mocked her a great deal further. South Park seems to get a free pass from many liberals even though the creators have said they have many conservative leanings. I didn’t find it funny to see the Senator portrayed that way.

So yes, the shirt is part of the chain of evil deeds on Stone’s part. Who’s disagreeing? But we have to be honest that the same level of puerile banter comes from the opposite end as well. I’m not saying it comes from you, but I just think this is indicative of the plummeting lows of political discourse all over the spectrum of American politics.

The point of Rollins’ piece about Ann Coulter was that he was using her rhetoric against her. She’s long been a proponent of the “Get back in that kitchen!” school of women’s rights, and he was asking her to put her money where her mouth is.

Ugh… that was so gross. And the whole “educate people as to what Hillary Clinton really is” or whatever bit… by pointing out she’s a “cunt” is really just pointing out that she’s a *gasp* WOMAN. Misogyinistic for sure. Like, hey fellas, underneath it all remeber: woman. We can’t have any of that, now can we.

Things like this just make me angry. Really, really angry.

@ Andrew : The… book?

Yes, it’s misogynist. Yes, it’s foul. Yes, it’s utter BS. Yes, it…. looks fake at first glance, but, sadly, it’s really believable to me. Do you guys live up north or something? I was born up north, but (also sadly) I now live in the South (Florida, which people forget is the South until you remind them of Jeb Bush, Walt Disney as a person, and that the “fun stuff” doesn’t start until further south: Orlando and Miami), and I just saw a bumper sticker someone had that said, “Life’s a bitch, so don’t vote for one.” So, yeah. Common occurrence. Cultural perspective and all that– most of America is just a little less openly the South, so that’s one positive thing about living here, people will say what they’re thinking and you know where you stand (no matter how disgusting their opinion is).

Unfortunately, even though Clinton & Obama would be great and revolutionary in an election and all… I sincerely, sincerely doubt that either of them would win the presidency even if they were elected as Democratic nominee. Not without a great deal more of ugliness like this and, at least around where I live (the South, the flyover states), targeted and lethal violence. I can guarantee you that if Obama is elected in primaries, the KKK will be back in a big way. We like our politicians WASPy, married, and vagina-free in America!

So this? This is no big deal to me. As a woman of color, I will begin to be offended and more angry than I am on a regular day-to-day basis when the misogyny and racism surpasses what I have become used to (read: “socially acceptable”) on a regular day-to-day basis, because most Americans are thinking this kind of crap anyway, and elections will reflect that.

(Sorry for the long-ass rant)

The main problem with this attempt to demean Hillary is that it will only get her further support, i imagine there are more people in the States who will be disgusted by this than will agree with it.

C’mon guys, I want some Obama in office. Don’t give Clinton fuel!
