The ratio described by Dr Phlox between Greenland and Africa is quite correct. Africa is 13.9 times larger to be exact.

The “imperialistic attitudes” bit is a farce and was just a way for Peters to get recognition for his map design. The Gall-Peters map isn’t perfect, but the Mercator projection is just wrong.
