During World War II the British Americans couldn’t chance the Germans Japanese blowing up their largest airplane factory – so they hid it.

EDIT: I literally have no idea how that happened.

That’s pretty cool.

I also like Patton’s moving entire fake divisions around England — Paperwork and all to confuse the Germans.

The capper to this remarkable story, however, involves Harry Cohn, the head of Columbia Studios. Knowing Lockheed had camouflaged their plant (because they had used set builders and prop makers from the Hollywood unions to do so), and fearing the Japanese might mistake his studio for a factory, Cohn had a huge arrow painted on the roof of his largest soundstage pointing in the direction of the Lockheed plant!

Off topic.. but is there a way to integrate the author of a post into the RSS feed? Since there are a handfull of people posting now and the RSS Feeds just get the title and the post it makes it a little confusing sometimes
