If you had the chance to select the roster for a Marvel vs. DC fighting game in the vein of Marvel vs. Capcom – let’s go with 20 slots on each side – who would you put into it?

Here’s my request:

How to write great characters? and/or How the heck does Pratchett do it so well?

Any of the above topics would be more than adequate.

I always enjoy your outside perspective on US politics. And with midterm elections coming up next Tuesday, it would be an awesome opportunity to make fun of Christine O’Donnell.

Quick addendum to my topic suggestion: assume that no characters are off-limits (except for Disney characters; that just wouldn’t be fair).

There were pity kittens; I am morally and possibly internet-legally obligated to donate. I don’t suppose you have any moderately healthy tasty sweets recipes to share? Those jelly tots were hell of good, but apparently I’ve made too many cheesecakes for my IT guy at work and now he has super high cholesterol. I need to find a way to bribe myself to the top of the fix-it queue without killing the poor fella.

Sage: That’s a fun topic, but I think you’d find that the first 15 or so for each side would be blatantly obvious. I mean, would anyone sane working on such a game not try to get Superman, Batman, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hal Jordan, etc. in there?

That reminds me, it’s too bad you don’t still have the Amazon wish list thing, because then it’s like giving presents. And who is so dead imside that they don’t like surprise gifts in the mail that are guaranteed non-stalky?

I still have one, but I only bring it out at Christmas and my birthday.

I’d like to request a slight twist on one of your semi-regular columns: “I should write the [any DC or Marvel property] movie.”

More about how terrible Rob Ford is. We hates him!

I find meringues to be kind of Texturally Offensive.

Do a series of character defining panels for B-listers. Stuff that gets someone permanently branded, like wife-beating, using heroin or something like that.

If I give you money, will you promise to never post a video of kittens with neurological disorders ever again?

Seconding the “how to write great characters/how doe pterry do it so well?” suggestion as well.

A suggestion that has you (in theory) buying something yourself probably wasn’t what you were in the mind for, but I still say you’d enjoy the current run of Sonic the Hedgehog (160 and onward). I don’t see many comic nerds giving it a fair shake.

Studio Executives!

STUDIO EXECUTIVES!

God dammit, I need to know what sort of horrible misogyny Two is up to these days.

It’d be really nice to have a 2010 update to the Magic: The Gathering set you did for the election.

On the comics front, “Why I Should Write The [FRANCHISE HERE].” Maybe something about the Young Avengers? Also, I miss Thursday Who’s Who.

I also miss the studio executives.

I’d donate, but alas, I am also poor and must funnel my money towards a charity called Paying The Rent.

How about your take on the current Legion of Superheroes series, including who you voted for in the Legion Leadership Election?

In other news, I am a duh and didn’t bother to read the backlog of posts I hadn’t read before asking about the Legion election.
Mea culpa.

I’d like to see the full time return of the Thursday Who’s Who. If there aren’t enough characters in it left to cover, maybe you can do some from the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe.

I sent you $5. I know it’s not much, especially considering the laughs you’ve given me, but as/when that lottery win happens there’ll be more.

Thanks. Seriously.

More reviews of forgotten characters from Who’s Who and the like. I would be interested to read about what happened to the various NEXT BIG THING in comics started up by the likes of Malibu, Dark Horse and so on. I was out the comics loop for a few years and totally missed the “dramatic” end of the Ultraverse and the Dark Horse line of hero comics…
..they did end right ? :()
