I was planning on watching The Time Warrior this weekend. With her, Courtney and Pertwee all dead… that’ll be somewhat depressing to watch.
Goodbye, Elisabeth Sladen. It really is too hard to believe that you are gone.
Oh god damn it. She was the first companion I watched, back in the early 70s. And she was so good at it!
Oh man, there goes another part of my childhood. Although I always thought it was funny when she gave Rose crap for being young, when Sarah Jane herself had to have been 12 freaking years old when she started hanging with Pertwee the Elder.

What’s the Sarah Jane Adventures without Sarah Jane? Just… Adventures. Not really the same.
NOOO! I *loved* Sarah Jane. She was one of my first role models as a very young geek girl, to the point that I actually teared up when she came back during Tennant’s run. Sadness…
Fell in love with her, thought fondly of her, and then fell in love all over again. Twenty years, and I so thought I’d have years and years more.
Crap.
I suppose it’s lucky that we got to have her in the new run of Who at all, but for now I’m just bummed. 63 is too young to lose Sarah Jane! Hell, any age would be.
Very sad news for me. Sarah was the first companion and with Baker (and the guy who played Harry) introduced me to television science fiction that was not Star Trek or Star Wars. I found Doctor Who to be weird and wonderful and characters like Sarah were everymen who we could sympathize with. I liked her a great deal, may have even had a bit of a crush on her.
