Broken Arrow doesn’t have doves, but it does have butterflies. No one ever suspects the butterflies!

This is more like WWE’s 3rd or 4th “reality” show. So nothing really new here…

Not being adverse to a bit of construction porn every once and a while, I gave Brother vs. Brother a shot. Not good at all.

TL,DR; “I can’t fap to this”

Property Brothers was fun. Buy a run down house, do the structural work necessary, and turn it into a nice place. This works because of the final reveal and the happy ending the homeowners get.

Next came Property Brothers Buying and Selling where they reversed it, and fixed up your house to sell it. Not as good on the reveal, as you know the homeowners are leaving. The previous show was better because we knew the homeowners were going to enjoy the work for a long time. The show becomes a real estate show, rather than a renovation show.

Enter CBS. They’ve converted the show into Hells Kitchen with artificial time limits and the inevitable break to commercial before every reveal, because apparently that’s dramatic. And just in case I forgot what happened before the commercial, let’s repeat the last minute. Furthermore, the show had about 30 seconds of the homeowners returning and enjoying their house. This is reno porn, and you’ve got to get the money shot. It’s what porn is about. Don’t cut it short.

I’ll just mention that this season in Hell’s Kitchen the one competitor that we know of in the final was a huge surprise. Put up several time for elimination early in the competition and has been considered one of the weakest by the front runners for the last several episodes. I love Mary and really hope she wins as the other two still up for the remaining spot in the final are “douchie know it all” chefs. Go Mary!

Two TLC shows mentioned and no comments about the lack of weddings, little people, or Honey Boo Boo? I’m shocked. Shocked, I say.

(And “Who Do You Think You Are?” is pretty good. Cable good, yes, and the scripting & product placement is often *painfully* obvious, and it’s not anywhere *near* as well done as the Henry Gates show on PBS is, but it’s always eminently watchful no matter who the B-level celebrity of the week is.)
