I really kind of suspect that the studios have no idea what they’ve gotten into, period.
Another great example. The Studio I Work For (afterwards known as SIWF or UCS or even SIWFUCS) is currently in the middle of a big ‘green living’ push. Solar panels, replanting trees, recycling, basically all the ’save the planet’ stuff that doesn’t actually do a damn bit of good, but looks really good on paper.
This SIWFUCS green push is costing upwards of one billion (with a b, kids) to implement. I really think the only green here is the color of the money they’re wasting.
And not paying their writers with.
