The word trollop doesn’t get enough use these days. Along with the words gallivant and shenanigans.

Do we make fun of Mr. Spina Bifida? Ms. Cleft Palate? Miss Thalidomide Victim? Mrs. Diabetic Amputee? No? None of them? Then why Mr. Asperger’s Syndrome?

Current research indicates that Asperger’s is a genetic, heritable birth defect, every bit as physical as a broken leg, a hardware (not software) problem in the very structure of the brain itself, and in no way caused by or the responsibility of the person afflicted by it. Making fun of those with AS is every bit as much as kicking a cripple as making fun of those afflicted with any of the ailments in the first paragraph above.

Have some shame, why don’t you?

Because I didn’t see anybody good for any of the others. I mock on an equal-opportunity basis.

And considering I worked for years at a nonprofit specifically tasked with helping kids with Asperger’s and other learning difficulties, trust me: I don’t particularly need to be lectured about it.

Not to their faces.

P. S.: Whither “outrage” about S. T. D. s?

Asperger’s is real? I always got the idea it was just an excuse used by some douchebag trying to talk tough on the internet to cover his ass.

And since when is it OK to make fun of Hitler?

Who will think of Hitler’s feelings?

Mr. Jelly would be perfect for Mr. Spina Bifida!

I am fairly certain that getting told off by the likes of Mr. Davidkevin is a clear indication of success as a creator. Good on ya, mate.

I have Asperger’s, and I thought it was funny.

I have Asperger’s, but didn’t think it was particularly funny. Not necessarily offensive, it’s just that that one happened to be a “miss”. Many of the others were lol-worthy, though.

It’s so often I see the sort of bigotry that Andrew evidences in his comment above that the appearance of what looks like it pushes a button with me — but now having researched the Mr. Men and Little Miss book series’, it’s clear that I saw what you were doing out of context.

I now think I misunderstood your intent, and I apologize.

P. S.: Unlike some others here, I never read those books as a kid. If I had, I doubt I’d have come to the conclusion I did. Again, my apology.
