Bruce Springsteen has some funny things to say about this song on that “Storytellers” show for VH1.

I always wondered what the real words were.

Amusingly enough, even the Wikipedia page on the song contradicts itself. In the first half of the entry, they write “Cut loose like a deuce, another runner in the night” but then go on to discuss how it’s “Revved up like a Deuce, another runner in the night” (in reference to a specific kind of car) in the second half of the entry.

. . . I used to have a life once.

my twin brother watched all like six episodes of this show, with me, but he doesn’t remember it. he also forgot about unico, and the only other person i’ve ever met who also remembers unico remembers it as the most depressing thing he ever watched as a kid.

i can’t help thinking about this sketch whenever this song comes on the oldies station they put on at work, same as everytime ‘don’t fear the reaper’ comes on i get a craving for more cowbell.
