No, you haven’t, by gum, yes it is, and anybody who says different is no friend of mine.
It’s like Alien Loves Predator and Lucid TV - sometimes I can’t even be sure what I’m laughing at or why I’m laughing at it, but I don’t care. I think I may force any nieces and nephews I may have to read these strips as they grow up. You know, as an experiment.
It was better back when it was different.

Scary-Go-Round is an odd apple because it’s just so damn fluid. If you read over the whole run, you can clearly see points where Allison just lets a plot float away because now he’s following two characters who were previously supporting cast and now suddenly the comics all about them. He shimmies all over his cast and it works, on a fascinating level.
The downside is that it’s been a while since we got any good Ryan and Hugo dialog, Tim hasn’t been around for a good while, and I originally starting reading the comic for Rachel and Tessa. I can’t seem to share anybody’s enthusiasm for Shelley and Amy — at points, I downright hate them. I hadn’t read Bobbins when I first introduced to the comic and had gotten the impression that Tessa and Rachel were supposed to be sympathetic, while Shelley and Amy were the antagonists.
However, it is still a fantastic comic because he keep churning out characters I do love and I look forward to more adventures with The Boy.
I don’t know anything about the comic at large, but THAT THERE comic is DAMN hilarious.
I love SGR, and I’m so glad that he’s decided to stick with the hand-drawn, weird-fluid style. It suits the storytelling, and it’s an absolutely unique look among webcomics.
Similarly unique is Allison’s total disregard for the preservation of his characters: They get banished from town, banished to hell, turned into Grim Reapers, shot by rival gangs, and regularly abused. It’s all done whimsically, but it contributes to the overall sense that you really can’t predict what will happen next.
Plus, c’mon! A Malcolm Gladwell joke! A Stephen Harper cameo! That’s niche-humor GOLD.
I love SGR because it reminded the world how EVIL CANADIANS ARE! Don’t trust the Great White Northern Menace! They’ll foist Wendigos in bunny suits on you!
Not bad, but Malcolm Gladwell’s hair is about 3 or 4 times bigger than that. Seriously, it’s unreal.

I read that comic and I was like what, Malcom Gladwell can’t really have hair like that. And then I looked him up on the Google and I was like holy shit, he does!
