I just went from wtf to ftw.
I have no idea what I just watched, but I enjoyed it in a hypergleeful way.
The japanese have a LOT of time on their hands, judging by all the insane custom mario levels I’ve seen, but this takes the cake by a LONG shot.
That said, it is pretty goddamn awesome.
That is both insanely awesome and a testament to the sheer amount of free time some lonely Japanese nerds have on their hands. Christ.
Holy jesus christ. That is both awesome and worrysome at teh same time.
I had absolutely no idea what they were singing until they hit the Wily theme song from Mega Man 2 at minute #6
Some might not realize it, but it’s a medley of anime OP among other things. And I just realized I can recognize anime OPs from animes I haven’t even watched once.
That’s kinda like a super power, Milkman Dan.

I just want to point out that not only is that the music from Megaman 2 (first level of Wily’s castle) at about minute 6 but it is also the best piece of music on the NES.

Sir, I am a bit agast that you would direct us to a Mario Paint rendition when there is a link to an electric guitar version right at the top of Related Videos.
If it’s the electric guitar version I think it is, it’s done by the same guy (he does versions of all the MM2 music). However, while that is, in scientific terms, basically super awesome (if I may use the metric measurement), it is in no way comparable to music done in Mario Paint. This is music made out of planes, cats, and tiny game boys. I am “a bit aghast” that you fail to understand its amazingness.
But seriously, with the sarcasm removed, there is no way to go wrong with that song. It’s just a good song.
I have no idea what I just saw, but it was magnificent art. For a second there, I fully understood what Tolkien was talking about when he described Illuvatar and the Valar singing creation into existence. Then it seemed like I was becoming a part of everything.
I think I’m starting to come down now.
Well, I can’t quite say that Illuvatar singing creation into existence was the first thing that popped to my mind, but that was amaaaazing. I have NO idea what I just watched.
And Mad Scientist: are we quoting Firefly, or am I just a hopeless nerd? (Well, I mean, YES to the latter, obviously, but. . .)

If I’m not mistaken, it also had nods to the ACTUAL platform theme from SMW (~8:45) as well as the Final Fantasy theme (~ 9:30). Were there any other themes buried in there?
