I think this strayed from ‘nerdiest sentence ever’ into ‘most disturbing nerdy sentence ever’.

“I wrote a five-paragraph essay, complete with citations, a cover sheet, and a works cited page, that details the canonical evidence for Primarchs and Space Marines reproductive capabilities -really, you should check it out, I posted it on my livejournal, and the accompanying forty-page mpreg slashfic (Alpharius/Omegon, I ship that 4ever) is on adulfanfiction.net and a sequel’s in the works.”

The difference here is, with the original sentence, Thok wasn’t trying. It just came out as a legitimate argument for something, and literally every noun in that sentence only matters to nerds.

All these other efforts are nice, but you see, they’re TRYING to be nerdy. And that ruins it.

Star Trek is practically mainstream. People who’ve never even seen a single episode (including myself) still know that Spock is an emotionless nerve-pinching Vulcan, Kirk shagged anything that stood still long enough, Sulu is gay and Bones is a doctor, not a quantum physicist.

Harry Potter is similarly mainstream – it’s become basic pop culture.

The Prisoner isn’t geek, it’s cult. The two often overlap, but they are not the same thing.

Babylon 5 – I got nothing. But that’s because I know nothing about it (because it’s not mainstream).

What? Not one person has mentioned Star Trek? Since when is a Battlestar Galactica reference nerdier than a Star Trek reference?

And while we’re at it, why not throw in some Babylon 5, The Prisoner, or Harry Potter?
