And as usual, the Onion cuts right to it with the funny.

Indecision ’08 was hampered by occurring BEFORE the results were close to finished; also, Comedy Central is in the tank for Obama.

Wasn’t everyone with full brain function?

I prefer the article about McCain getting trashed at the Pheonix VFW. A tired old man, who gave all he could to his country, drowning his sorrows after handing over his fate and his good name to slick fixers and cynical power brokers and getting run right the fuck over the coals for it… There’s something of a summation in that, for the American century. If I made a movie about the ’08 election, I’d end it with that scene.

This seems to belong somewhere on this site, but I wasn’t sure which comment thread to post it in, so here it is. It’s from a right-wing movie commentary site (http://dirtyharrysplace.com/?p=5463):

“However, I can say with complete confidence that if every American had read Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth series, McCain-Palin would be planning their moves to Washington right now. It’s that powerful.”

Awesome.

It’s funny, but it’s kind of sad how accurate they are. Everyone wants Obama to be Jesus, Superman, Batman, and like every great diplomat and economist ever all at the same time during his first 100 days, and then the bar just goes up from there.

Obama’s a good, intelligent guy, but it’s really tough to expect he’ll be able to live up to the expectations everyone’s built up for him.
