I’m sensing something, here. Perhaps a trend. No. Perhaps…yes, a desire.

I sense … I sense that MGK should have eaten breakfast, first.

I went to IMDB to look up Garth Brooks’ TV appearances. Not because I believed you for a minute, but because the thought of a ‘Garth Brooks In Space’ show was so utterly terrifying that, like a child checking for the monster in the closet, I had to make absolutely sure it didn’t exist before I could sleep again.

Did you, by chance, invest in egg futures before writing this one?

I was always more of the bacon-egg-and-cheese type. I like the flavor of McGriddles and the texture of biscuits, leaving me in a moral quandary about the proper end pieces for the sandwich.

If someone in the house knows how to make chocolate chip pancakes, then you could make McGriddles!

You know, if you changed that Garth Brooks in Space thing from trucking to rodeo, you could probably sell it to him.

Yeah, I looked up the Garth Brooks thing too, for pretty similar reasons. Those egg rings sound like they could be rather versatile.

I HATE gin.

Who would have guessed Ellis likes alcohol?

I don’t even know what you’d get Garth Ennis.
a beating human heart?
and an egg ring?

That said, only the English are obliged to love gin. The Scots are, of course, expected to regard it as little better than maiden’s water, especially when compared to a good single malt (or Buckfast). The Welsh… the Welsh can drink whatever they like. It’s not like anybody cares.

I think the egg ring lobby got to MGK.

Garth Brooks in Space?! Seriously?! Is that real cuz I’ve never even heard of that and I can’t even find any info on it. My mom’s like the biggest Garth fan I know. She has all his albums and box sets.

Unfortunately, I don’t know where to get a good trenchcoat.

Jesus Christ, Ellis, do you just know somehow when people say your name?

Third on checking IMDB. JUST TO MAKE SURE.

But what do I get for someone who falls into none of those catagories, but is instead “Your brother who is very fond of eggs”?

Or instead of (or in addition to) the Mr. Belvedere tapes you could throw in a copy of the original movie of The Producers and watch the jaws drop as they make the Christopher Hewitt connection between Mr. Belvedere and Roger DeBris, Broadway’s most incompetent director.

Ahhhhh, the EGG RING shall be my gift of choice for everyone on my list! Thank you, MGK, for resolving my annual dilemma. (I am a shitty, shitty gift-giver)

What about Pushing Daisies for the knitters? Emerson Cod is the grumpiest element in that particular universe, and yet his main hobby is knitting. Subscribes to Knit-Wit magazine and everything.

I got nothing. Personally, I’d like an ABC programming exec done up like a pinata, since the network not only failed to promote The Mole in favor of crap like Wipeout and I Survived A Japanese Game Show this past summer, but also cancelled Pushing Daisies. That’s like cancelling Christmas, apple pie and puppies.

…aaaaaaaand I just noticed all the egg ring mentions. Must’ve been because I never heard of an egg ring before. Sorry I didn’t get it the first time, though my views on ABC remain unchanged.

Secretly, Warren Ellis has always wanted a dog.

MGK, you magnificent bastard. You read his blog.

And Jayne hates his eggs that way. It says so right here in my Jayne Cobb / Frank Martin slashfic.
