I could fly if I wanted to/

I believe I can fly/

“‘Hang in there, baby!’” You said it, kitty.[looking more closely] “Copyright 1968.” Hmm, determined or not, that cat must be long dead.”

“Above the planet, on a wing and a prayer.
My grubby halo, a vapour trail in the empty air.
Across the clouds I see my shadow fly,
Out of the corner of my watering eye.
A dream unthreatened by the morning light,
Could blow this soul right through the roof of the night.

There’s no sensation to compare with this.
Suspended animation, a state of bliss.
Can’t keep my mind from the circling sky,
Tongue-tied and twisted, just an earth-bound misfit, I.”

As long as you keep your arms out and keep running, the universe will always have new things to explore.

Given what reality presents me on a daily basis,
I would pursue an unattainable dream simply to prove reality wrong.

Besides, it isn’t as if there is any shortage of windmills to tilt at!

Sheesh, you have to take a few little tests that your entire future depend on and you just fall to pieces. I had to click on the Torontoist link in the sidebar, THEN the Culture button on that site, THEN scroll down a little bit and THEN I had to click on the tv review just to read your weekly tv column…

Get with the program Bird! I had to be very slightly inconvienced when trying to distract myself for five minutes! Slightly inconvienced Bird! What am I not paying you for?

What you don’t see is the cat chasing the little duck.
