Anything recommending books, particularly sci-fi ones would be welcome. You’ve mentioned plenty of comics but it terms of literature I only remember you making fun of it and not really suggesting any

I really enjoy the posts that are ABOUT writing. I find them insightful.

I would love to see a variant on the “Why I should write …” series. Specifically, “Why I shouldn’t write …” and give us your worst idea, with the aid of Photoshop, on various comic properties.
As an example, George Lucas did this with the Special Editions by having Han shoot first

How about something about DC War Comics. Haunted Tank, Unknown Soldier, right up to Sgt Rock. I cut my teeth on those comics that used to be my Dads and still think they are the best books. You can have Superman. I’ll take Bulldozer and Shortround any day.

Your Siege post brought up some interesting points. What do you think about the problem of violence in comics? Should the mainstream comics be a bit more conservative in regards to the blood and guts in order to appeal to a broader audience? Or should comics now simply focus on the older audience?

These are almost all good suggestions. How about some more tunesblogging? This was a great post, and more music updates like that would be cool. I point to that post rather than your older single song links because it seemed to provoke more discussion and have more to say about the songs. I was always curious about how you put together your post on Forty Short Reasons I Will Love Comics Forever. Did you have those panels just lying around as jpegs on your hard drive? Were you collecting them over time, as you found new and better reasons to enjoy comics? Did you wake up one day and say, “Bless me! I should make a post of forty images from my favorite comics ever!”?

I would like to know what you thought of the Mark Waid Strange mini that just finished this week.
Personally, I’d rather read about Steven Strange and his new apprentice, especially given that Strange can’t really do magic anymore, then whatever Doc/Bro Voodoo is up to.
my mom was born in vancouver bc in 1948. she was adopted and brought to portland, oregon a few years later, and a few years after that gained american citizenship, simultaneously losing her canadian citizenship due to restrictions on dual citizenship at the time.
then last year we read about the new citizenship act amendment – http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/rules.asp
as best as i can understand the FAQ over there, she retroactively regained her dual-citizenship going back to when she lost it as a kid in the 1950s, and consequently, legally she was now a canadian citizen when my brothers and i were born here in america (1978 and 1981), which now retroactively makes /us/ dual-citizens as well.
a – is this more or less accurate? are there a bunch of wierd exceptions i should look into? (obviously we need to contact the closest consulate for better info, but since you’re in law school and taking questions…)
b – if this is true, am i correct that we don’t need to apply for citizenship itself, since we already legally have it, but rather need only to apply for proof of citizenship cards? (and possibly register as dual-citizens with the american government?)
c – if i /am/ now a citizen and acquire the id card, having lived in america my whole life, what are my restrictions on, say, moving to canada?
can i just come up there with a suitcase, find a job and an apartment, start paying taxes, register to vote, get a drivers license, get health-care, and be good without a visa? does this make moving to canada, for me, akin to moving to another state down here, where i can go wherever i like as long as i update my paperwork (drivers license / voters registration / insurance etc) on the other end?
Oh…I would also very much like a Who’s Who on the Calculator, a silver age villain I have a soft spot for.
