That is some nice looking artwork.
Too early to tell if this Bird guy is any good though.

How do you adjust to “quarter speed” in a sailing vessel?

I know how you do it in an engine-powered ship–there’s a dial that goes from “full speed” to “reverse,” etc. But what counts as “quarter speed” for wind power?

I can’t wait to see how he draws Phantom Girl.

(Seriously, nice art!)

This will be answered sooner than you think.

I squeed. And I’m over 30. I am burdened by the weight of my shame.

mygif

So you’re responsible for the voices in my head!

“How do you adjust to “quarter speed” in a sailing vessel?”

You don’t need to have all the sails set. Depending on what speed you want, what strength the wind is, what direction the wind is, and whether you are going into battle you unfurl or furl different sails to different extents.

Ooooooooooooooh!!!! (And I’m not even into comics.)
Seriously nice artwork. The middle panel on the bottom? Gorgeous.

Crap. I didn’t think anyone was actually going to read them. =)

Groovy. You finally take your audience’s advice, eh? Maybe in a year or two this will get you writing the Legion or Dr. Strange.

First time that I comment, but I could not help:
Sir, you make a very bad day a bit better.
Nice artwork, and I trust that the tale will be great.

What the runes say?

mygif

“Quarter Speed” sounds like you’d start running into that paradox about how the arrow can never hit the tree

mygif

I’m curious, who could order a captain on the deck of his own ship?

@Davinder – Think about how many Tolkien geeks there are online – you really thought no-one would read runes? (=

(Actually, I read them because I’m an Old English geek, but that’s another story…)

mygif

You get quarter speed by giving the whale-reins a firm tug, obviously. Slows those bastards right on down.

@Davinder And after growing up playing the Ultima series (which used something similar to the Elder Futhark runes later on) I can’t see those without automatically thinking to decode them because maybe it will tell me where to go next. :)

Though more often than not they end up just looking neat and not meaning anything.

I believe perhaps telling us name of the work would be appropriate. Looks good so far.
