That was- much, much better than expected.

Can anyone tell me what it was that the bass player was doing with his hand?

Summoning dark spirits.

(I have no idea. I learned that you’re supposed to play the bass with both hands on the instrument)

I’ve been kind of out of the dance music world for a while (still listening to old Squarepusher and Mr. Scruff records from, like, 14 years ago) so I was only vaguely aware of dubstep till MGK uploaded this and the Nonstop/Butch Clancy/Foster the People thing this week.

I was a little sad but not too surprised when I started looking up Skrillex on the Google and found a whole bunch of hate for the guy due to his somehow being responsible for selling the whole dubstep genre out to fratboys. Really? Fratboys listen to/dance to this? And this producer is at fault how?

Like I say, I wasn’t too surprised because every musical genre must have purist devotees who hate all commercially successful renditions of “their music”. All the same, the hate in this instance seems especially ridiculous.

I’m actually a big fan of the original and loved that cover. The sound just has a sort of anarchistic madness to it

This is Brostep not Dubstep, you have to be from London to know how to make Dubstep.
