Street urchins have very little in the way of legal protection in Al’Rashad; although killing them is widely frowned upon, most merchants can do so without any official legal consequences. Societal disapproval generally keeps these children alive until they hit their teens, at which point they become more easy targets. The transition to adulthood for a street child is extremely difficult in Rashadi culture.

Discussion.
