Rashadi carpetmaking was discontinued (on a flying basis) during the reign of the Sixth Prophet; although never condemned by the Prophet as such, several prominent clerics suggested that flight was “a means to rise above our earthly station” and general disapproval was enough to force most carpetmakers out of business, other than a couple kept on staff by the Caliph of the time.
