The Vjort mortar is the brainchild of Svenson Vjort, a miner in the Peotjrad Mountains, who was trying to invent a way to remotely blast the sides of escarpments. The true genius of the Vjort is not that it is a mortar, but thanks to runic enhancements it aligns and re-aligns faster than any mortar of its bulk could hope to achieve, allowing for a series of tracking shots on swiftly moving schooners and even pinnaces.
