I hope this doesn’t anger you, but I think you might’ve been better off posting these an “issue” at a time, rather than a page.

Also, I’m sure your artist is making about zero dollars, and ditto you, but I’m sure you also know a page a week is pretty terrible output in either field, although Brian Hitch could occasionally stand to speed up to that rate. :)

A page a week when everybody involved has, like, full-time work and stuff is not bad at all, I think. But really, I can churn out pages at a faster rate; Davinder’s schedule is the stumbling block here.

Would people be interested in me setting up a tip jar for Davinder, wherein if we hit donation targets he draws more pages?

I’d actually do that. I doubt it’ll replace a full-time job anytime soon, but if it’d help provide motivation…

A lot of great webcomics are/have been page-a-weeks. most of them make their money, if they do make any, via sales of the print editions. The doled-out pages basically serve as advertising for the real product, in that instance.

But not’s not to say more pages a week is bad, by any means. I say tip jar, absolutely.

I think it also is a matter of content. Since this is more ‘comic book’ than ‘comic strip’ in format, there isn’t quite enough payout in any given page. You would either want to match a more robust release schedule (which doesn’t sound like a fair demand for the time constaints of the artist), or go with supergp’s suggestion to release a full issue at a time.

My plan is already to hold off for a month at a time and then read whatever’s there in sequence.

I agree with Myth.
Is there any downside to giving the tip-jar idea a shot?

I’ll add another voice in favour of a tip jar, but I’m also happy with the current page rate. Faster would be good, but not at the cost of quality or other parts of the artist’s life.
