“There are dozens of bears”

I know this is a typo, but in my heart I hope that video game developers will understand that More Kuma = More Better…

Either that or WWE has just gone for full on text when it comes to the homo-eroticism…

The WWE would contain dozens of bears, but they are all forced to wax.

Re: #5, I kind of like that you can do nothing but ridiculous highspots and the characters will no-sell them with impunity. It’s like seeing the worst extremes of backyard wrestling smooshed together.

Next time, I’m making a custom shirt that says “SEAVEY IS BETTER”.

I noticed the bear typo, but decided I like it better that way. Also, there are not nearly enough bears in the game.

If John Laurinaitis has the Ace Crusher I’d play as him and go mid-90s All Japan on everybody.

Anyway, the way I see it, the AKI N64 games, Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain, and Fire Pro Wrestling are all I need. Modern graphics and updated rosters are unnecessary.

I would play as Santino for years if given the opportunity. Then again, I’m also a fan of women’s wrestling and 3MB and Tyson Kidd, so my opinion is irrelevant.

They’ll never get the game as customizable as it could ever be, because this end of the design is potentially infinite (which is not to say for sure whether WWE ’13 is as good as the tech allows or not- don’t have it, can’t judge.) I do look forward to the day when processing power is sufficient that they can just throw in a Poser-type program and you can go crazy designing each individual movement of the model.

I agree with the mechanical criticisms wholeheartedly, though. (Mainly because I’m assured those haven’t changed much since Day of Reckoning.) Tag matches go on forever, and the dynamics aren’t really those of a WWE-style wrestling match. I’m not sure how you could get simulate a fake match and maintain uncertainty of outcome, but THQ has been sticking with one model for years.

As for the roster- I dunno, I do like a lot of the new guys well enough. The problem with WWE now isn’t that they don’t have good people, it’s that they don’t know how to use them. Jack Swagger could be a great monster heel if he weren’t forever jobbing.

Its still baffling to me that the best wrestling games ever were on the N64, and the Sega Saturn

I could sit down right now with a copy of Fire Pro Wrestling Six Man Scramble on my Saturn and have just as much, if not MORE fun than anything made since.
It also has light bulbs…
