I don’t see that comment any more, but I don’t mind. It’s here on MGK.com, and that makes me happy.

You can’t stop the signal!

Yes, because itโ€™s so hard to edit a Wikipedia entry.

That was my point. Why is this special? Odds are this isn’t even the only vandalized entry on a Republican this week.

Possibly because it’s amusing, and also entirely accurate.

I wonder if it had been written in a less derogatory fashion if it would have stayed?

“Despite these facts, he still considers himself a defender of “traditional marriage values”.

Nah… That, too, is an “inconvenient truth”…..

Actually, the reason this one in particular is a big deal is because Newt was parading around on TV this past week, talking about traditional family values and a gay/secular mafia that is out to take over the USA now that Obama is poised to become President.

“I think it is prepared to use the government if it can get control of it. I think that it is a very dangerous threat to anybody who believes in traditional religion. And I think if you believe in historic Christianity, you have to confront the fact. And, frank — for that matter, if you believe in the historic version of Islam or the historic version of Judaism, you have to confront the reality that these secular extremists are determined to impose on you acceptance of a series of values that are antithetical, they’re the opposite, of what you’re taught in Sunday school.”

Yeah, you know what else the historic versions of Christianity, Judaism and Islam agree on? Breaking your marriage vows and having an affair is a very bad thing! And I’m pretty sure while there’s nothing specific about dead-beat dads (Newt had to be sued for child support on numerous occasions), I’m pretty sure there’s something about a father’s duty to provide for a family…

Actually, it is still there, although in a more neutral phrasing. There is still a note that he considers himself a ‘defender of family values”.
