Star Trek badge related story: My nerdy dad’s (equally nerdy) coworker’s more nerdy son came to visit the job site wearing a ST:TNG Picard suit with the pin and the pips on the collar. Following this, other nerds at the job came out of the woodwork and started asking coworker-nerd for his source of pins and bought them to wear on their lab coats and business shirts. The cheaper ones used “gold star” stickers. This trend has continued for several months.
