Seriously! If you already voted, then don’t vote because that’s illegal and stuff. But otherwise you should totally go vote! Get in line if you have to! Voting is important!
In the meantime, although I of course recommend you vote for Barack Obama, if you cannot bring yourself to vote for him, I heartily recommend Jeff Boss for the Presidency. Despite the fact that Mr. Boss is clearly a sort of a crazy person, his platform still manages to be better and more specific than John McCain’s.
And if you don’t want to vote for a man you’ve never seen, you can see him rocking the “suit and baseball cap” combo outfit on his Senate campaign page. Yes, Jeff Boss is running for both President and Senator of New Jersey at the same time! That is because Jeff Boss has work ethic, man.

Woke up at 5:50 to be twentieth person in line. I’m still quite anxious about the whole thing, especially since I live in a swing state. Luckily, there are also several large colleges in the state full of young, mostly democratic, liberal voters.
I got to wait in a line full of old people for the half-hour I had between classes! V exciting (not)
I’m so glad to come back here where people are sane. I went to a different blog that I visit every day, where I thought I was in good company, and the whole site was plastered in Obama hate and “GO MCCAIN” posts. I was crushed.
My wife and I both voted Obama this morning in Indiana. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that unity, hope and positive change will win out over paranoia, anger and deception.
I hate living in TN. I’m about to head out to vote right now but it feels like a useless gesture at this point since my state is filled with mindless republicans that’ll vote red no matter what. Why the hell don’t we go by a popular vote anyway? Anyone else think that the electoral college system is entirely screwed up? It’d be nice to feel like my vote actually counted…
I pulled my lever.
Then I went out and voted
Walked over to city hall, said hi to my neighbor who’s an election judge, got my ballot, voted, stopped at the coffee shop for ice cream on the way home.
I love my little city.
I sent in my absentee ballot about two weeks ago.
I voted a week ago. Oregon!
MAN! THAT JEFF BOSS WEB PAGE IS HARD ON THE EYES!
WHAT’S WITH THE ALL-CAPS?!
I already did!!1! I deliberately waited until today instead of voting early. Just because.
One polling place a bit outside of town had about 80 people in line, one in the middle of town had maybe a dozen. Okay!
I wasn’t wearing my detect-voting-intentions-glasses, but I bet most of them were going McCain. (This is southern Georgia.) Nobody that old, more 40s and 50s, I think.
I voted like, almost two weeks ago!
(Of course, being in Utah, it won’t matter much…)
#429 at my polling place in KC, MO. (A toss-up.)
Good crowd, a few Obama volunteers were handing out coffee and bottled water to people in line, and giving out stickers. Took about an hour.
There was a long line to vote today, but fortunately it was for “H through R” so I got to go ahead of the line.
I appreciate that Jeff Boss’s sidebar entries are “Jeff Boss for President”, “Possible NSA Agents in FBI”, “Attempts on My Life,” and “As President What I Would Do.”
On that note, I’ve collected all the third-party options that appeared on my ballot here:

Who knew there was a Socialist Worker’s Party in the US? Makes all those pansy-ass declarations that Obama is a socialist seem kind of weak in comparison.

Voted a couple weeks ago. Sure, it won’t turn Texas blue, but there were other items on the ballot. Everything from US Senator down to a local proposition to benefit our fire fighters.
So, MGK, are you liveblogging this one?

What on earth can that change to if he does get assassinated? “Yup!” and a grave stone?
I’m with Kingfisher. Voting on Election Day makes me feel… all squishy. It’s the one day out of 1,460 where I feel that there is an infinitesimal chance our tiny, misbegotten little Democracy is still somewhat intact.
Sadly, we are due to have a baby, like, any minute now, so this year was my first voting early. It was very anti-climactic and I have not felt in any way smug these last few weeks. Well, maybe just a little.
I voted with no problems. I had a mini-high school reunion, which ended up being my most harrowing experience of the night.
