Whiplash could hav ebeen a weird choice, but fuck Rourke give it a new fucking deranged level. Also wathicng warmachine and Iron Man in an armor wars, well is on such levle of awesome we could barely understand.
My computer’s slow to load, but once I saw the headline I already knew what this was for. I cannot wait to see Mickey Rourke in this movie.
(Sam Rockwell’s in it too? Nice.)
I already miss Terrence Howard. (Nothing against Don Cheadle, but TH was great in the first movie.)
Thus concludes my celebrity-filled comment
As a note, Rourke’s Whiplash is mostly based on Crimson Dynamo, just with a Whiplash “coat of paint” on account of we’re not quite as scared of a Red Menace out to consume us all – the idea of “another guy could build powered armour” and “he is Russian” and I think the Whiplash motif is something to do with karma/goes-around-comes-around stuff that always seems to bite Stark, particularly Movie Stark, in the butt parts of him.
Which is to say, this movie seems to be primarily The Armour Wars in storyline as we see the Justin Hammer and other-robots-fight playing out. Also Marvel has not one but TWO armor wars tie-in comics out now (the “Ultimate” version, and some weird kids’ version).
Didn’t Whiplash change his name to Blacklash in the ’80s? Has he changed it back, or do they just use the old name for the film? I’ve only read three stories with him ever, so I don’t know much.
The question is, will the movie based on the trailer be as good? “cause it seems to me that when they start making movies based on trailers, they’re never as good.

I don’t think there’s an appropriate word in the English language for how much I’m looking forward to this.
Seriously: why Whiplash?
Rourke could’ve honestly been cast as any other non-Mandarin rogue.
THEY’RE FIGHTING A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT ARMORED DUDES!

My neighbors now think I am entertaining a gentleman caller.

HI BLACK WIDOW. HI. MARRY ME.
Ahem. I mean, yes, this looks like a fine piece of cinema.
THANK YOU JEBUS!!!!
Screw Citizen Kane. This will clearly be the greatest achievement in cinema history.
Black Widow, a badass Whiplash, and War Machine? If they can just get Bambi Arbogast into this, it will be perfect.
I want to buy my ticket R*I*G*H*T N*O*W !!!!!
So I’m the only one that thought it was a pretty poorly-crafted trailer, then?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!
THIS. THIS IS WHAT I WANT.
Awesome, but it needs more Sam Rockwell.
I thought it was good. Rourke came off better than I’d expected here, good musical choices, and the Pepper/Stark scene was cute.
But that’s it – it was good. Watchmen had a good trailer, too, remember?
You take that back. You take that right the fuck back – this is not watchmen *mad*
This will top Spider-Man 2 and X-Men 2.
That’s right, I said it.

Huge disappointment. There is no Squirrel Girl in this.
Downey lobbied against the inclusion of Squirrel Girl, as he wanted Iron Man to retain top billing in his own franchise.
You cannot stop Squirrel Girl.
Squirrel Girl will make her debut in Iron Man 3. So you just have to wait 2 more years, sad but true
Mega Meh 2
As long as they explain why Whiplash is bulletproof (he’d have to be or get shot pretty quick, no?) and the whips, that’s fine by me. Daddy like.
