That makes two of us. Same message. It’s either not starting until 10, or something’s borked. Or both…

So far, it looks like the only way the Conservatives will get a majority is if they join a coalition with what remains of the Bloc.

I just saw a headline that said the CBC is declaring the Conservatives the winners.
My condolences if this is true.

We’ve re-elected horrible politicians here, too. Lots of times. So I know what you’re going through.

Argh, why is the liveblog upside down? All the previous ones you’ve done on that site have been in the correct order.

In other news, I’m afraid to leave the house, for fear that I’ll be compelled to kick everyone who even looks tory in the nethers as hard as I can.

While I’m not thrilled about a Tory majority, I’m stoked about the NDP sweeping through my province and destroying the Bloc. Duceppe losing is the icing on the cake.

I didn’t much care for the Bloc, but I always kinda liked Gilles Duceppe. He seemed like he had his head screwed on straight.

That said, maybe Quebec has realized it is time to grow up and take their rightful place as full contributors and participants in the Canadian political process, instead of electing single-issue secessionists out of some sense of misplaced pride and obligation.

Why would Quebec do that? I’m just a citizen of the USA, but I thought that Quebec had an insanely good scam going by threatening to actually try and separate again and then getting bought off.

Dammit, I’m emigrating to get /away/ from the insane conservative government we have down south. I didn’t want to run smack into another one.

ARGH

ARRRRRGH

AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

AND ENTERPRISE IS STILL STAR TREK CANON!

LIFE. FUCKING. SUCKS.

By the way, since Conservative Party reminds me of Joe Clark, who I still have some respect for, I’ve renamed the Conservative the TMA- which can stand for both the Teflon Meighan Alliance, and Thayer-Martin agar, which is a culture you use to detect gonorrhoeae Canada, this is what ahppens when you fool around with people like Harper. Terrible STIs. Now why didn’t the other parties run with that?

Teflon Meighan Alliance after our, arguably, worst PM ever Arthur Meighan. At least the most openly sociopathic.

Am I crazy, or was there a time when things like forging documents, lying to the public, breaking rules (even your own) when you don’t like them, making things more expensive while also useless (the census), stuff like that, would make a party LOSE seats?

Plus I’m baffled how any Toronto riding could go Tory given how much Harper hates Toronto (Here, have a G20 you don’t want, then watch me not pay you back for all the damage!).

Oh, and, fuckity fuck.

Oh, the vitriol. As an Albertan who constantly sees the Cons win, I welcome you.

Did you see the neat sign over the door? You know, the one that says “Abandon all hope, ye who who enter.”

But yay, an NDP official opposition. Four years of collecting paycheques and being meaningless. Canadian political system, FTW!

You American readers do know the official opposition in Canada is essentially powerless (along with the people) when we have a majority government, don’t you?

It’s the U.S. we’re talking about here. Comparatively, Obama and the Democrats are more right-wing than Harper is.

Exactly what I’ve said, Die Macher. I’m honestly puzzled (in addition to being angry).
