Not shown: the poorly choreographed fight scene that followed.
….Holy fuck. As a current employee at said store, all I can say is that if Shatner and a Giant penguin showed up, it would still not break the top ten wierdest moments list.
Is the owner of Loblaws named Bob?
I just had to ask it.
Ah, Denny Crane in his prime, pimping out Loblaws while on a trip to Nimmo Bay.
William Shatner is one of those few people whose work exists beyond simple characteristics like “good” and “bad”. Everything Shatner touches turns epic, but I have no idea if it is epic win or epic fail.
This is a philosophical conundrum that I refuse to solve for the answer may very well tear asunder all that I hold true and dear.
In fact, I fear it may already be too late.
bunnyofdoom: “top ten wierdest moments list.” I’m intrigued. Tell me more.
Calling it “shat” is probably the best appropriation.
Giant penguin “friend”? I don’t think we were watching the same video. That penguin isn’t his friend, it’s clearly his stalker.
This must have been filmed before that old fat guy ate him and became the new Shatner.
The Shat just made me shat.
(had too)
also this reminds me of prison.
The logical conclusion is that the avian is in estrous, Captain.
I remember Shatner’s supermarket ads from when I was a kid, except that out here in BC it was for Super-Valu.
(Loblaw’s is only in Ontario and Quebec, out here the stores of that chain were all branded as “Super-Valu” when I was growing up, with these days the name “Real Canadian Superstore” predominating, though there still some Super-Valus, and a few stores going by the name “Extra Foods.” All use the “President’s Choice” range of in-house brands. I’m sure that’s really fascinating.)
Steph: No, it’s Galan Weston. Sorry. 😀
That penguin was vaguely distressing. I wouldn’t trust my children around him.
Shatner knew the penguin was trouble: hence the helmet hair.
This is why people shouldn’t drop acid while working in Canadian advertising firms.
“The logical conclusion is that the avian is in estrous, Captain.”
WIN.
Little known fact: That’s Walter Koenig in the penguin suit.
