No eel, really? Not even in the sushi context? (Anago/unagi)

I don’t know why that surprises me so much.

It’s actually entirely possible to not or nearly never smoke and still enjoy a nice cigar. They are smoked in a different way than cigarettes, and use much better smelling and tasting tobacco. You dip the end you puff from in the cognac (brandy works too) and get the taste of the smoke and the booze at once. It’s a taste of old-fashioned luxury that should be enjoyed at least once.

Roadkill?!
(I mean, I keep kosher, so I wouldn’t eat a lot of the stuff on there, but – seriously???)

Ooh, I’ve had pomegranate wine. Highly recommended. (Although I’ve heard that it isn’t really “wine” if it isn’t made from grapes.) Anyone got favorites/recommendations on the list? I’d have to go with cheese fondue. Mmmm.

I’m shocked that somebody as strongly associated with comics as MGK has never had a Hostess Fruit Pie. They’re delicious, to boot.

I score a 13%. It would be 14, but it doesn’t say if it includes things included in other things. For example, I like Rueben sandwitches, but I don’t eat sauerkraut by itself. Also, I can’t remember if I’ve had huevos rancheros.

And MGK I can’t agree with you more about the Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I do not see the big fucking deal people make over them. It’s just an ass load of glaze on the fucking things! I can eat one, any more and it makes me sick.

Lovely Spam, wonderful Spam! Lovely Spam, wonderful Spam! (I don’t like it that much, but couldn’t resist the Python reference.)

A Krispy Kreme doughnut must be eaten absolutely fresh, hot light on. Then, they taste like sugar on a warm breeze. Otherwise, they taste like a plain doughnut.

I must agree with Chris on that, though the boxes have microwaving instructions which can simulate the effect. Now to tabulate my answers (would’ve had snake if the restaurant wasn’t out).

Looks like at least 20% (just churros and funnel-cake for 67).

Hn. 48/100, a lot of which comes from just being a Louisiana native.

Worth commenting on:

22 – God, I miss berry-picking. If the damn things weren’t essentially kudzu with thorns, I’d have blackberry vines on my back fence now.

25 – Fond memories of bad food.

30 – I’m a Babylon 5 fangirl. Had to try it at least once.

39 – Trufax, once you cross the LA state line, it ceases to be gumbo and is merely soup.

42 – Wasn’t on purpose.

51 – Arizona transplant; I’m stunned by how many dishes that thing is made into and how many of them are damn tasty.

60 – Not recommended when the palate expects chocolate

66 – They’re best when you catch them yourself.

67 – All of the above, but a hot beignet and cafe au lait rule above all.

70 – Both.

83 – Nice, but largely overrated

88 – Honeysuckle. It’s good.

97 – Surprisingly meh.

100. See #66.

Even hot, Krispy Kremes are still pretty overrated. The chain came up to Minnesota and died a slow death because frankly, SuperAmerica’s SuperMom doughnuts tasted better, were bigger, and cost less.
