So people may have noticed that the site occasionally crashes for two to three minutes and then comes back up. This is only tangentially related to traffic issues: the problem is the result of the way my site’s folders are structured after I switched providers last year.
My friend Rob wrote a script to auto-reboot Apache whenever it crashes, but it can only work so fast. And I’m really tired of comments on other sites saying “site seems to be down whoops now it’s back.”
Anybody out there a Wordpress genius who can fix it? I can pay you in jellybeans and rainbows.

Yeah, when it goes down I just drink raw eggs and do push ups while hitting refresh till it pops back up.
I noticed in today’s Wall Street Journal that jellybeans and rainbows have plummeted against the Canadian dollar this past week, so I can see why you chose that particular currency. But you should know that if it takes a while for someone to fix this problem that your payment choice may haunt you. Jellybeans and rainbows tend to fluctuate quite a bit in value, mostly due to a combination of the Cameroon bond market and the sugar prices in Belize. I remember last Spring, for instance, jellybeans and rainbows were way up against the Euro.
Start waving those jellybeans and rainbows around immediately. This site just crashed as I was commenting on the Beatles thing. It happened the moment I hit ’send’. I had to write the whole thing all over.
(Or maybe it wasn’t your site. Maybe it’s just my computer screwing up. But fix it anyway, just in case.)
Just so happens making Wordpress do bizarre things for money is my main moneymaker right now! Making it be a blog, and do so correctly, shouldn’t be so big a deal. I’d be happy to take a look, at the very least. Chris at chrislowrance dot net.
