Somebody once told me, “if you want to make a good action movie, get an American to direct. If you want a good comedy, you get an Englishman. And if you want a good war movie, you get a German.”
On that note: Die Fälscher (The Counterfeiters) is quite possibly the best World War II movie in quite a long time, and certainly one of the best of this year. If you get the chance, see it. Trust me on this one – it’s goddamned amazing.
