Grant Morrison just disappeared into some mystic otherworld, and what’s worse, he took all his notes for Final Crisis with him. In desperation, DC’s given the job to you. Assume that you’ve got to let Countdown and all its myriad spinoffs run their previously planned courses, but then the plot is yours to run as you see fit — how does YOUR version of Final Crisis go?

No, really, if you’re going to be putting typos in these parodies of yours, should I not get some sort of payment for watching your back?

What’s your take on DC’s treatment of female characters? Has it been positive or negative? Are they just guys with breasts? To you believe there’s really an undercurrent of misogyny in any of the current books? Is there really a “fridge” and how why spread is it? And will Dan Didio ever give up trying to fix Wonder Woman?

Ha ha! Loaded post…

DC. Flash or Wonder Woman. Who’s been treated worse in terms of creative team bungling since OYL?

Marvel. Is Slott, Guggenheim, Wells and Gale the worst line-up of writers for an A-List book in recent memory, or have Marvel (or DC) ever topped it, in terms of the wrong talent on the wrong book.

And yes, Dan Slott is the wrong choice of writer for Amazing Spider-Man and I’ll argue the point until I’m blue in the face.

Are you jealous of my ability, as a US citizen, to vote in the American presidential elections?

Are you disgusted by the fact that I have no intention of voting this year and I am not even registered to vote?

With all of the big events showing characters such as Iron Man and Wonder Woman in perhaps an unflattering light, comic readers are crying out loudly that everyone in comics are jerks and douchebags. These fans assert comics are no longer fun, and that no one’s a hero anymore. However, between superdickery.com, blogs like the ISB and Dave’s Long Box shining light on just how douchey characters were Back In The Day, and Alex Ross’s anything being derided as Superfriends fanfiction, were comics ever as fun and the characters ever as heroic as the comic readers claim? Or do these fun comics and heroic characters exist only in a make believe past that exists only in the minds of hyper-nostalgic readers who have fallen into Jay Sherman syndrome?

How would you, personally, go about arguing in court that a genetically modified gorilla with human level intelligence is a free and independent citizen of the US (or Canada, if you prefer). Given that the ape, prior to its intelligence increase, was the property of the corporation that is also responsible for its current intelligence, what do you think the corp’s legal argument will be?

Would the gorilla be allowed to speak in its own defense at the trial?

Do you think you’d win?

Which is better: Old American Gladiators or New American Gladiators?

I have feelings about the matter myself, but I don’t want to sway your opinion by adding too much exposition.

With Joe Quesada’s “Let the writers do whatever the hell they want (as long as it doesn’t affect Spider-man)” editorial policy and Dan Didio’s personal motto of “It’s not real or mature unless they’re covered in sodomy blood” do you ever think that they should just switch companies? Would it be a bad thing? What do you think would happen?

or:

“Remember, remember the fifth of November.”
“THIS. IS. SPARTA!”
What do you think is the next godawful comic catchphrase that seemingly just won’t die?

I’m curious about what you thought about the debate, if you watched it. However, this isn’t a “question” per se.

Will we ever see improved archie again?

Have you ever seen Danny Michel live? Have you ever heard of Danny Michel? Would you consider providing floor space for two complete strangers (Americans no less) to sack out upon for a few hours during their epic, cross-North America, quest to pursue that holiest of Grails, the grailest of Holies, Danny Michel, live and in concert? Do you think that it is sane and/or reasonable to consider driving from Seattle to the Tri-Cities for a show?

Marvel approaches you to write your own 7 Soldiers style event/character revamps. What 7 characters do you choose? Bonus points for why each character/revamp details/high concepts etc.

You’ve been given the Legion job, you’ve been writing brilliant stories for about 3 years or so, and now the word comes down from DiDio that it’s time for the next massive reboot – what do you do?

What are the good comic stores in Toronto? (By good, I mean ones that are well lit and friendly to browsers – and preferably close to U of T.)

Who is the best person to work with in the U of T Law Career Center? I’ve worked out a reciprocity deal with my school.

Are you up for meeting for a coffee sometime?

With clusterfucks like Countdown and One More Day, huge company-wide crossovers requiring three digits a month just to keep track of everything … is it really worth it to keep following the Big Two? Are the stories enjoyable enough to be worth the time and money and headspace it takes to know what the hell’s going on in any given book?

If you could go back into your own past and change one thing, what would it be?

( This isn’t a trick question relating to the OMD BND OMG WTF fiasco over at Marvel. I’m sure you’re not the type to sell your wife down the river. )
