Guess who gets arrested after a collision: the rich white drunk driver or the poor black sober one.

Those kinds of stories never fail to scare the shit completely out of me.
Looks like both were at fault, but the real outcome of this needs to be an investigation of police procedures in that area. The guy did speed off after an accident. Having lost friends to accidents where one of the parties drove off, woof – I find it hard to sympathize with the guy. Just saying.
But also, I nearly broke off a friendship due to a person unrepetently drinking and driving, so I’d be terrified to live in an area where a drunk driver was allowed off the hook. I’ve had friends in Arizona who say this sort of profiling is the norm, so I’m glad the NAACP got involved.
I liked this comment on the original article:
“Throw her fucking parents in jail. How is this person under 18 given a 3.5 ton motor vehicle, allowed to drive it after previous crash and then ignored as she buys booze with a fake ID, 5 years under the legal age.”
I think this is a very good point. This shows a dangerous lack of common sense in parenting. She may be too old for Child Protective Services to do anything, but still…the girl’s license should be revoked and her parents should pay heavily for this.
License revoked? That girl CAUSED the accident. Don’t get me wrong, dude fled the scene and should face charges for that, but he’s getting the whole load thrown on his back, and to my mind, it’s mostly the girl’s fault. She should be facing charges for drunken driving, reckless endangerment, and manslaughter; not him.
I had forgotten where I put my rage today. Oh there it is. What an awful story. I hope that girl gets charged.
The Bitch! I have half a mind to get her to add me as a myspace friend, then send her nasty messages. Maybe she’ll actually feel a bit of guilt.
