The Speech was magnificent, that’s why. In fact, we actually finally made up our mind and started a project in response:

Maybe people are waking up to the fact that, love him or hate him, Obama really is an exception to the rule about politicians. I mean, outright admitting that even if he disagrees with Wright’s statements, he could never distance himself from a man he considers family? Balls, man. Solid brass balls.

You would be the most militant black man in the world.

Thanks for showing me this speech. Saying I’ll vote for Obama now would be a bit trigger-happy, but his speech did click with a lot of issues I have with America’s politics.

Huckabee is odd in that he doesn’t seem to be ‘handled’ as much as other candidates (or former candidates, as the case may be).

You know, when Huckabee says stuff like that I start to think that there’s actually a really nice, kind, compassionate person in there somewhere, under the insane religious fundamentalism. Then I remember that the insane religious fundamentalism precludes his ever allowing himself to treat all people with the fairness that he apparently believes, deep-down, that they deserve to be treated. Then I am sad. Sigh.

I just figured republicans are trying to stay the hell away from throwing “hate-spewing nut religion” (which I don’t think Wright is AT ALL) rocks this time since their house is made from a pretty weak-thin glass? The man who McCain called his spiritual guide called for the genocide of muslims, McCain spoke at Jerry Falwell’s university after he took back his statements that he and Pat Robertson were “agents of intolerance” when courting the presidency (and c’mon, he’s a fear-mongering know-nothing sell-out that’s getting the biggest free-pass from the media because he’s a honest-to-god hero — the only thing seen so far on mainstream media is references about people complaining he’s old, ’cause yeah ageism’s the point and liberals want young fresh rockstar faces).

I just thought Huckabee wouldn’t want HIS OWN sermons (or even past statements) brought up, since, well…

It’s incredible the amount of shit you can pull off in this horse race, and the guy that gets caught it’s the one that says the things that most resemble Christ’s sayings.

To be fair, they did crucify the man. The irony.
