I will always have him in my mind as Sam Vimes when I read Discworld. He improved any movie he was in by his mere presence. He was a, if not THE consummate character actor.

crap in a hat
I highly recommend Anchoress, my favorite Postlethwaite film, to those who haven’t seen it.
He was the only saving grace in SO many movies… Jurassic Park 2 comes to mind, as insipid as that movie was, I will watch it for him staring down a T-Rex with a dart gun. 😉
