Happy birthday! I will be thirty-six in two weeks.

Fun Fact: in America, 1976 had the lowest birth rate of any year since World War II. There are fewer thirty-six-year-olds than there are in any group under sixty-seven.

Whoah, what was going on in ’75 that no-one wanted to do some baby-making? I feel special!

Also, happy halfway to 72nd birthday. Are you wearing a sweater today, or do you hate the environment?

Coincidence – today (for you that is) I’m 46 but it happened for me yesterday because I live in Australia and all the good stuff happens to us first.

Happy Birthday to you MGK!

When I was in my early thirties, I consoled myself against the specter of aging that at least I wasn’t halfway to 40.

At age 36, it sinks in that no, actually 20 was halfway to 40.
