Davinder really nailed poor Joro’s face. Nice use of minimalism.

What’s the liklihood of seeing Al’Rashad collected in a print version? Preferably one with tidbits and authors’ notes!

I think Davinder and Chris should finish it before they start shopping it around as a potential GN.

This seems like the sort of thing Oni would be interested, among other indie presses. Hell, Chris lives in Toronto. If he could get a small print run done he could get a modest little table at TCAF; Chris Butcher can, iirc, usually be persuaded to cut a deal for local artists.

That is the longterm plan, yes. I know Davinder wants to do a “special edition” on a few pages and the possibility for a color edition is one I find really tempting. Plus, yeah, author’s notes and maybe a 16-page glossary of the world.

I’d say “okay, so we Kickstarter it,” but the truth is that the comic, at present, does not have enough readership to make such a Kickstarter financially feasible right now.

This may just be me, but I think color would actually sort of detract from the current art. Maybe some shading or suchly, but this was clearly drawn with the intention of being black-and-white and the art reflects that; adding color after the fact would be sort of meh. See: Scott Pilgrim.

The question of colourizaton brought V for Vendetta to mind. I think that Davinder’s approach differs from Lloyd’s such that colour would be less disruptive, since it could fill in existing outlines instead of establishing them. That said, I love this in black and white, and would want to see a very delicate touch taken.
