FINALLY an explanation that makes sense.

I’m glad that MGK’s Id has finally taken a stand on this oh so important issue.

Seriously, this is still a thing? Man, you’d think there’d be something better to nerdrage about? How about the Badass bug still loitering in Borderlands 2? Or the fact that Mass Effect 3 had a $15 DLC that just came out that’s only about two hours long… and oh yeah, the ENDING STILL SUCKS?

Sheesh. Get upset at ‘real’ problems, nerds! And I say this as a geek myself.

This is a lot more coherent than I’m used to from Flapjacks.

@malakim2099: Fifteen bucks for two hours is about proportional, isn’t it?

I can run through ME3 in about eight or nine hours, and that was sixty bucks. That’s on one difficulty setting down from max and going to Earth with a fleet that’s about 20% larger than minimum.

Now, granted, the FIRST time I beat it, it took me about thirty hours. That was because I took my time and smelled the roses. Every time I went back to the Citadel, for example, I was all “I hope that lady trying to get her asari daughter back home succeeded, I should check in on her” and “Has that turian dockworker told that kid her parents are probably dead yet? Better look into that as well.”

But I don’t need to do that more than once, really.

I think the metaphor is that Flapjacks was a fake nerd but he wished very hard every night until the Blue Fairy made him a real nerd.

I don’t know where these people hang out such that geek girls were ever a thing. I was an anime geek in HS and college, and at those conventions you couldn’t throw a rock without hitting a female that could out-geek-trivia me coming and going while dressed in a professional-grade custom he spent the last six months of her life hand-crafting. :-p

The whole argument just feels so contrived. What tree-fort were these people hiding in for the last 20 years that they haven’t meet geeky girls yet.

I want to come up with some clever way of asking “Fake Geek Girls” people whether they think the US President is a Kenyan and explaining why it’s pretty much the same thing, but it’d take much longer and require more effort than calling them assholes and ignoring them.

Maybe this is what we’re supposed to aspire to? Like, respect for well-crafted art when we see it, rather than derision because the practitioners don’t fit some stereotype.

Still sad, 28 years later (HOLY CARP!!!That number can’t be right, can it? Where’s my Geritol?) that there was no female nerd representation on that stage.

I feel alienated!

AYE LEE EN ATE ED!

Murc, not really considering my one playthrough was about 30 hours or so. Sadly though, that’s the only playthrough I managed because that ending was horrible enough that I didn’t have the stomach to play the campaign again.

Am I the only one who, whenever he hears the word “Nerds” has Ogre’s line from Revenge run through his head? “NEERRDS!”

I have trouble summoning the real or feigned indignation you guys have for this issue. Maybe It’s because I haven’t stumbled on “fake nerd girl” griping in real life, or don’t spend enough time on the right corner of Reddit.
