That is quite possibly the best minute of West Wing Ever.

I was surprised that he did a 180 and went neocon after 9/11. Though quite a few folks did, so I guess it isn’t too surprising (either that or his Evil Mirror Universe doppleganger replaced him).

A lot of fair-weather liberals went neocon after 9/11. Usually for one of two reasons.

One, they felt that progressive, intellectual values was too slow moving for it to be practical in the face of something scary so they jumped ship to support something more direct and mindless.

Two, they were disheartened by the lack of everlasting sympathy by other liberals who weren’t waving their flags hard enough every time a right-winger mentioned “9/11” in a political sales pitch.

A chilling thought: if the true Ron Silver wore a goatee, how could we tell him apart from his doppelgänger?

Clearly, a War on Facial Hair is our only recourse.

Obviously, he’s the evil doppelganger.

Didn’t you watch Heat Vision and Jack?

Ron Silver didn’t change much because of 9/11: he was ardently pro-Israel, hence his advocacy of the neocon agenda in 2004.

My concern is that all the great villains of my youth are going: Ron Silver as yuppie scum from flicks like Blue Steel and TimeCop. Who’s gonna play those kinds of roles now???

I’m with Adrian Veidt on this: all the major villains are dead. 🙁
