I’m stunned he’s gone. Like you said, it was obvious he wasn’t well, but he seemed so certain he’d be back, it was hard to imagine it not being true…
While I’m surprised it happened so fast, I’m not surprised by this development in general. My father passed away from cancer earlier this year, and when Layton announced he was stepping down temporarily I just had the sense that he wouldn’t be returning to the House of Commons. RIP.
His death at this juncture certainly has the potential to scramble the future of the NDP and the Canadian party ystem.
Well done, and very fitting. I was completely shocked and devastated to hear the news.

While I am at it, I’d also mention the tragic & schocking passing of Sofiène Chaâri (1972-2011) actor & humorist. ” chez Azaiez” will still be his funniest series.
