I like the piece, although Patrick fails to also include all those goddamned zombie/werewolf/vampire “games” that are little more than desperate cries for attention – here’s a hint, people who create those games, tag works as a game because you get to run around a lot, not because the tagging dynamic is that interesting.

I’m totally lost here. Are you talking about RPGs?

So far I’ve just been using it to find people. Already tracked down someone I hadn’t seen in over a year. I think that’s enough to make it worthwhile.

I’m talking about those annoying notifications people keep sending around, the “X has just bitten you and turned you into a zombie! Click here to install the stupid zombie application and turn other people into zombies!”

I hate them all unreservedly. I understand why other people like them, but I can’t stand them.

Ah, okay. A Facebook deal. I’m not signed up to it; Evan’s uses are valid, but I already have MySpace for that.

You can turn off notifications for the various applications. It’s quite a lifesaver.
