I am kicking the living ass out of the baseball league you formed, but nobody in the league cares about it anymore ’cause it isn’t for money. Where are my props? Give me props. Then I too can stop logging in there.

I’ve actually been wondering how you feel about Obama at this point in time; whether he’s mostly lived up to your expectations, whether he’s disappointed you, etc. I realize that everybody did the “report card” thing earlier this year, but I don’t see why that should stop you. 🙂

MICHAEL JACKS- no wait, not that.
I’ve been watching a lot of documentaries lately, about, you know, how we’re doomed (e.g. FLOW, The 11th Hour, Home) and seems like eons since you wrote a post about eco-conscience and stuff (you know what I mean).

I’d be up for some more shopped comics, but Ultimatum’s being done by another site, Flash: Rebirth hasn’t had enough issues and I can’t think of or have missed any other recent shit comics. I wouldn’t ask you to do anything Titans-related again, either.

I’d like to hear your thoughts on a Superman movie reboot. I know they were planning one but I’m not up to speed on who’s doing it or anything. Any thoughts/ideas? Who would you cast to start and direct? What plot elements would you put in, etc?

Jeez, Karen. Somewhere, a club for the narrow minded needs a treasurer. You’re a shoo-in.

How about:

SYTYCD, S4, Top 8 performance show.

Something involving a cladogram.

Ever been in jail? Even if you were just drying out overnight.

Odd detours your life has taken. Like “how the fuck did I get here?” Could be tied in with above request.

I really like the Who’s Who reviews and ‘I should write X’ features. Could you add to the Who’s Who a section on how character X might be made workable? It would be an interesting exercise.

Also I live overseas (China) so I’m always looking for good recommendations for TPBs or Manga to check out.

How to get into comics. I requested it last time and I’m requesting it again. Comics are HUGELY intimidating to get into, because there’s so much backstory to every comic. Where should people start to get into the big two?

Curse you Lurker.

I was about to say liveblogging. However I’d like to see you liveblog a movie. Not a new movie, maybe even one you’ve seen before. Just for giggles.

Tongue-in-cheek legal type discussions of Movies/TV. Like why, under the letter of the law, Miss Piggy is a sexual predator. Why John McClane and Axel Foley will never practice law enforcement again. What defense Clark Griswold could use to say he’s not a terrorist.

I’d also like to see a Hot or Not column…not necessarily written by you but perhaps another one of your contributors. 8D

I don’t really have any suggestions for what you should write about, but I’m going to field a request here (though don’t let that stop you from doing it yourself).

MarvinAndroid: Just start one. It’s really as simple as that. Go to your local comic book store or whatever store sells comics near you and buy a comic or a trade. Read it. Whatever you don’t understand or if you have no idea who a character is, then go online and Google the character or comic and read whatever Wiki or independent comic book site pops up. And unless the comic is shit, don’t stop reading it, eventually it will make sense (generally speaking). No comic book fan understands everything and knows everything. Pick up back issues or reprints as they become available and when the story strikes you as interesting. It’s honestly no more intimidating then anything else. I started reading X-Men comics in the 90s and no comic has more of a crazy, complicated backstory then the X-Men. And I didn’t have the Internet. So it pisses me off when people say it’s too hard. Start somewhere, keep reading, do a little research and if necessary go to a comic blog or comic related site and ask questions.

1) At a con, you win 2nd prize* at the raffle, One Reboot coupon. You can take it to any comic publisher’s booth, hand it over, and any one (1) reboot you demand, involving any character, will be granted. What do you do?

2) People change over time, even bloggers. Is there any post you’ve ever made, any opinion you’ve ever stated, where you look back now and think “Wow, I was SO wrong”?

*First prize was a date with Megan Fox. Hey, the con has to make money somehow.

Brian: There’s no way a date with Megan Fox would be worth my time unless she put out.

I always find it strange when the first prize for a contest is something I wouldn’t want, but then they fill out the rest with stuff I would.

Something I asked on facebook because I was too lazy to e-mail: what are your opinions on the upcoming Longbox digital comics platform (admittedly you might want to wait for a beta or something to comment)? Even a link to your old thoughts on digital comics would be a nice reminder, because I don’t see a search function and that’s a lot of clicking.

I thought of a possible post the other night. I got the idea from the now defunct blog “The Nerd Rage Report”. The idea is you take a list of comics and state whether they are worth reading, dropping or changing, then state why they are worth reading, dropping or changing. The books the original writers wanted to change were always interesting, keeping this artist, but changing out a writer. Removing both writer and artist for different ones. I think it would be a fun exercise at playing editor.
