Single-sentence rebuttal: Very entertaining, but he was better in the Batman movie.
I heard it was kind of brainless. Welp, guess I’ll have to find out for myself.
Brainless and entertaining aren’t mutually exclusive.
Fuck yeah, Bike Cop!
“so far”
The Loooper loophole!
Ooh, damn, The Dark Knight Rises just got scorched!
Yeah, it looks like a fun movie. No way in hell it’s ever gonna show up in our craptacular theater, but I’m definitely planning to check it out on DVD.
Sorry, TDKR, I guess Joseph-Gordon Levitt bike messenger beat out Joseph-Gordon Levitt “Robin.”
Orrr, maybe he means Premium Rush is more entertaining than TKDR, with no comment on JGL’s comparative performance.
People say that a lot, but I disagree. I think whether a movie “works” has everything to do with the skill and craft that goes into it, and whether it is applied intelligently.
The subject matter can be totally frivolous, i.e. “bike courier dodges bad guys for 90 minutes”, but if the movie isn’t MADE smartly, it won’t be entertaining.
Conversely, a movie can be about the ethical struggles of diseased orphans volunteering at the ballet during WW2, but if it’s done stupidly, it will just be stupid.
And yeah, Premium Rush was fun, not perfect, but overall more satisfying than TDKR.
