Now all they need is to bring in Blind Al.

If they pull this off, the Wolverine movie will have been totally worth it.

I hope they don’t cop out and have him break down a literal wall. I want talking to the audience and stuff. Perhaps accidentally calling characters by the names of their actors.

Deadpool will open his movie fighting a battle at a kid’s birthday party, with all these yellow balloons getting in the way.

Oh, and they’ll come up with a solution to the not-fan-approved ending to the Wolverine movie: evil clone! Yeah! It’s always been an evil clone!

*Ryan Reynolds and a HOT director meet with the executive bots*

It’s funny, but is it going to get them off their tractors?

I’ve actually been really encouraged by the stuff RR has been saying about this movie. If true, it might not suck and geeks the world over can rejoice. Then again, regardless of how much creative control he has, we all known that the studio will do their best to inject their own brand of stupid into it somewhere.

Wait – so Luke Skywalker broke the fourth wall in Star Wars: A New Hope? Awesome!

I still want the movie to start with Deadpool watching Origins: Wolverine on the TV before reacting suitably to it.

When they started making a point of Deadpool’s breaking the fourth wall, they started using it far too much, to the point where it really doesn’t work very well anymore.

The movie could VERY easily misuse it and ruin the entire thing with wacky fourth wall breakage.

I am pleased by this news.

No matter what they put on the screen, it will never, ever be enough.

Because, seriously, who could ever have too much Deadpool in their life?

I figure if they use it subtly it should work. Something like: Deadpool and the Lead Female approach a door. Wade opens the door, behind which is a long, dark hallway.

DP: “Ooooh, a long, dark corridor. Cue the scary music.”

Scary music starts playing.

Another idea for a wall breaking joke. After a shootout Deadpool stands up, reholsters his guns and says: “I go through all that and I don’t even get any doves?”

Which actually works on two levels as it breaks the forth wall because he realises it’s that kind of movie and as a John Woo reference.

For my money I think the perfect Deadpool movie has the plot of a 70s Kung-Fu flick, the comedy of a spoof (as in a lot of knowing winks to action and martial arts films, playing around with the tropes of such fare, a more serious Airplane if you will) and the action and pace of more modern action movies like Shoot Em Up or Hard Boiled.

Zenrage: There was a time in my life I may have said that about Wolverine. Now you can’t even buy an issue of Power Pack without that Canadian maggot being forced on you. So, yeah, knock on wood.

But as of right now, there are comics I wouldn’t even consider buying that I either have (Thunderbolts, Marvel Comics Presents) or have at least come close to buying (Ms. Marvel) because Wade was in them. But even Wade can’t save every book he’s in. Hulk anyone?

Mr. Reynolds spent most of Blade Trinity tapping at the fourth wall (in an attempt to keep the audience amused as Wesley Snipes did as little as possible) so I can see him making it work, depending on how much they play it.

Wasn’t one of the movie’s secret endings a shot of Deadpool pulling himself out of the rubble and picking up his own severed head?

He picked up Wolverine’s regeneration, along with Blob’s near indestructibility (and whatisface’s teleport and the Cyclops eye blast). One of the entertaining aspects of Deadpool is how he can be literally ripped to shreds and still get back up with a pithy re joiner.

I suppose this should really go in your latest ‘suggestion box’ post, but I’ve got an idea for something you could blog about MGK: Write a brief treatment for your version of Deadpool. It can be a synopsis of the movie, a scene, a list of characters you’d want to use and how they relate to this version of Wade, something along those lines.

One thing I must demand of this movie is a dedication to Bea Arthur. Right before the credits in big white letters. Maybe with a picutre of Bea shopped with the words “To my biggest fan” or something like that on it.

I know I am a sucker, but now I have to see this movie. I wonder if he’ll have a Gwen Stacy harem, too.

You know, Marvel does seem to understand that the movies they make have to have an individual personality so they don’t blur together. I can’t put it past them to make Deadpool essentially a comedy, as it WOULD be faithful to the comic, AND they know the humour was a big part of IRON MAN’s appeal. (Now if DC would show this same attitude in it’s upcoming films, rather then the promised wave of DARK KNIGHT wannabe “grim and gritty”…)

I’m not sure, some of my favorite Deadpool moments are ones I don’t think would be well in movies.

“Do I still think in those little yellow boxes?”

“Oooh, I missed you, little yellow boxes! What fun we shall have together!”

He needs to slash the screen and step out of the movie to get behind someone just once.

Or maybe have 24 Deadpools punch a goon in 1 second.

The fourth wall is there to be messed with. It’s just a different wall.

I guess he broke the fourth in the Wolverine movie too, you just have to wait till the end of the credits.

Dunno, didn’t actually want to pay to go see that movie.

Though I am a big Deadpool fan, so I’m hoping the movie with be worth it. =D

Lister,

Actually, I was thinking more about the fan reaction to the Thomas Jane Punisher film.

No matter what they throw on the film, it, somehow, wont be graphic or violent enough for the fans.

Zenrage: I would actually be more worried about it being witty enough, as opposed to graphic or violent. I read those comics for the cheesy one-liners and the quipping-during-a-gunfight scenes, not necessarily for the violence itself.

Of course, I might be the exception… Not sure anymore, really.

You know, Marvel isn’t actually involved in the making of this here Deadpool movie, as it isn’t a Marvel Studios production. So, Iron Man having humor and Fox maybe putting some humor into the Deadpool movie have NOTHING to do with each other.

Didn’t Bill Murray break the fourth wall at the end of Scrooged? That’s the only time I can think of when a movie did it on purpose.

I think the perfect Fourth Wall breaking would be Deadpool encountering Wolverine.

“Hey, haven’t seen you since the movie! Sorry about the eyebeams, I don’t know WHAT they were thinking!”
