Callllllled it.
Also, I know there are very good reasons for keeping their various armies shuffled around, but really, they have NOTHING in their capital city beyond the Royal Guard? Jandal was actually relying on Dalakhra that much?
Guy made some bad decisions.
I suppose I have to check in every once in a while and add how much I’m enjoying every episode of this.
Repeating it every week seems slavish… so assume I’m throwing all the mad props possible to both of you every week until further notice!
Nitpick: Unless there’s a nuance to the use of “VEᛏ ᛕᚤLLᚤ ᛗᚤ ᛒᛜᚻᚤᚦZ”* that changes the meaning of ᛕᚤLLᚤ, shouldn’t that be “I am ready to die?”
(Also, I’d take a stab that VEᛏ is roughly “AM”, can be used as “I AM”, but can be emphasised with Jᚤᚱ – “I”.)
*Using nearest equivalent Unicode runic where possible – several of these characters, while bearing a striking similarity to European runes, are (as far as I can tell) unique to Gundring.
…. and, yeah, that pretty much is what the Haka says.
Correct, but it’s been a long day and Alric hasn’t exactly had a good night’s sleep.
MGK, winning his own Marvel No-Prize (or the wording will be important).
Well, that’s fair enough.
Out of interest, would I be right in thinking that you’re using Nordic languages as a rough base for Gundring?
That really doesn’t mean anything. The Nordic languages have developed a lot. Especially Swedish has changed markedly during the last 100 years, losing certain grammatical forms.
So, if you use Old Norse as a “rough base”, you have a language which has a complex morphology and three grammatical genders. On the other hand, the modern Swedish is probably the easiest language in the world, with very regular and simple morphology and syntax.
