I don’t generally think highly of most mechanima movies (Red Vs. Blue is about the only good one), but this one is really clever (in a melancholy way, no less) and well done. Anytime you can tell what the character is thinking with such a limited range of animation, you know you’re dealing with storytellers who really took the work seriously.

I just saw this one. It’s a machinima of a terrible fanfic called “Half life: Full Life Consequences.”

I can’t believe I spent five minutes watching that guy run around not finding anyone to shoot at. What’s next, a video depicting a stealth stage?
That’s almost like a Pixar short. But with blood.
And the shotgun bit is hysterical.
I actually liked it much better before the other characters showed up. Seeing the guy with the flame thrower try to interact with a game world designed for multiple people and a definite purpose when he was all alone was interesting. Does he try to continue the standard gameplay by himself? Does it matter if he’s “winning?” What else can you do in the game world with no one else to interact with?
I think it would have been a stronger piece if the first character to appear after flame thrower guy would have stayed dead, and no one else showed up. Then we could have seen how he would have dealt with the fact that he had brutally killed the first and only person to join him in his solitary confinement, just because he was doing what he thought the game world expected of him.
Remember kids — if you spawn camp, everyone else will just log off.
That was funny, and a little sad.
