When even Jonah Goldberg says that a presidential debate was just watercarrying for the Republican party, you know it’s a shit debate.
Of course, there was also this handy condensed guide to the first forty-five minutes of the debate:
ABC SHITHEAD: Senator Obama, are you a racist elitist Marxist who hates the flag?
OBAMA: No, and what does that have to do with anything?
CLINTON: I’m not saying that Obama is a racist elitist Marxist or anything, but boy, doesn’t he sound like a racist elitist Marxist?
ABC SHITHEAD: Answer the question, Senator. Which are you? Racist, elitist, or Marxist?
OBAMA: You realize this is retarded, right?
ABC SHITHEAD: But you didn’t answer the question.
OBAMA: It’s a stupid question. You know it’s a stupid question.
CLINTON: I’m not saying we shouldn’t be discussing actual policy issues, but wow, how about all the bad people Obama has met at one point or another?
OBAMA: This is idiotic.
ABC SHITHEAD: Let’s move on. Senator Clinton, I note since we’ve spent so much time discussing Senator Obama’s ties to terrorism and how he hates America that you haven’t had nearly as much chance to talk as he has. Would you like to make up that difference in the policy section later?
CLINTON: Yes, please. I’m all about the issues.

That debate was a hit job and absolutely pathetic. A clear bias towards Clinton, nothing but distraction questions for Obama. It was so bad that the crowd booed the moderators at the conclusion.
Bad debate, or worst debate ever? It’ll be enough to solidify Stephanopolous’s perception as eternal Clintonian lackey (and to take cues from Sean Hannity? Why not just break out Steve Doocy’s son again, or does Chris Matthews have an exclusive deal with him?), but I expected much better from Charlie Gibson. That’ll teach me.
Charles Gibson was seemingly only interested in whether the candidates were raising his capital gains taxes. Go figure.
Makes me glad I didn’t bother watching. On the bright side, such an obvious hatchet job might actually help Obama with a sympathy vote.

Surprising to no one, but the comment section for the article linked on Fark is raging.
God, that was an awful…not debate…mess, I think is the right description. Its not even the bias which bothers me – the lack of intelligence of the questions, and the inexperience of the moderators, especially Gibson, really grinded my gears. I miss the days of Russert!

At this point, I am taking the George Carlin approach to American politics. I don’t give a shit.
The conservatives, who have excelled in doing nothing these past 8 years but lie to themselves, are of course thinking that these questions were the exact questions that should have been asked long ago and are currently convincing themselves that Barack is an Al Qaeda operative in America.
Understandable criteria for debates, since abcnews were the lovely folks who broke out the Wright “scandal”.
Really, Stephen Colbert’s satire isn’t as far fetched as this bull***t. He can’t compete with this market.
Zenrage: Give the Cons a bit more credit. They also excelled at spending a bajillion metric fucktons of cash monies and doing exactlly three and a half shits more than jackshit with it.
And sadly, NPR covered the debate with the great idea of ‘Oh, they were just preparing Obama for the general election.’
