It’s not just like it was some random penguin, though. :/

Personally, I see 1000 LJ icons in the making.

The real fandom question: Is Niels a gay penguin? Because that would hit the trifecta.

It’s nice to know that no matter how bad things may seem to get, we live in a world where a hard-working penguin can receive the honors it deserves.

Better not let the American conservatives see this.. this could be construed as a threat to national security and lead to the downfall of society.

Aw, Nils is so dignified there. Beak in the air the whole time. I like that he went and inspected the guards. Knighthood. Heh.

I wonder what happens if he finds a guardsman who isn’t up to inspection. I smile at the idea of an enraged Sir Olav chasing a confused guardsman around the Edinburgh Zoo. It’s one of those sentences you love having an excuse to type.

Very few things would get me to go back to the gulag that is Edinburgh Zoo. A noble Norweigian penguin just might.

When Sir Olav retires, will he be a Cod War expert?
